I had to block out the slurs but trust me, it was hard to censor these words because they have so much power and send the message of this article so perfectly. CSPA student Layne Diener wrote an opinionated article for her school newspaper the Raven Report. This is my favorite article from all our student newspapers, because it is such an important issue for apathetic high school students. Layne’s article is called Sticks and stones break bones, but words have power to dehumanize. I love the obscenities being put on the front page, and I envy how the Sequoia High school newspaper is so liberal. To read more of Layne’s fabulous article click here.
