Zack Rosenfeld with Stan Kelton, a CSPA instructor.

Zach Rosenfeld, 17, is not just a CSPA attendee. He is also a counselor. Not a CSPA counselor (maybe one day), but he is a summer camp counselor at the Manhattan Beach Country Club, taking care of three to seven-year-olds.

The camp at the MB Country Club provides a friendly and positive atmosphere for kids during the whole summer, taking full advantage of the facilities available at the country club, including swimming pools, racket ball courts, tennis courts, and more.

This is Rosenfeld’s first year as a counselor. He is in charge of the meals for the kids, and doesn’t have the burden of being responsible of the kids. He says that this allowed him to know the kids more.

“It’s a very rewarding experience. I love being with the little kids, they’re so much fun. They don’t complain. They don’t know how to complain yet,” Rosenfeld said.

Rosenfeld found out about this job through one of his good family friends and through his other friend who also works at the MB Country Club.

In order to get the job, Rosenfeld filled out an application and had to do an interview. He will likely be doing this in the future, even after going to college. It’s a good job, he said, “lots of fun and good pay.”

Because the camp goes throughout the whole summer, Rosenfeld will be missing out on two weeks of his job this year, due to the CSPA workshop.

Hopefully Rosenfeld is considering becoming a counselor for the CSPA workshop. Besides, he’s already got his training down – there isn’t much of a difference between the way seven-year-olds and teenagers act anyways.
