James Huber, 17, from Palo Alto, California is definitely what you would call a sports buff.

Aside from writing for his high school’s paper the Coat of Arms at Menlow School, Huber has played every sport in the book. “Sports have been super important to me not only for making friends but for becoming a better person.”

Currently he plays basketball as point guard and golf. In younger years he played first place pitcher in baseball and defensive position in soccer. Huber admits his craziest team name was “Killer Bees”, on an AYSO soccer team.

Although his Facebook page may show his love for sports, Huber’s true passion is journalism. “I love writing about sports for the paper, but now it’s become just a hobby.” Huber said he gave up his dream to become a pro-athlete a while ago and focuses more on writing now.
