About Me

Welcome to my blog!

My name is Mitchell Handler and I will be a senior at Venice High School and managing editor of the Oarsman.

During my tenure on the Oarsman staff I’ve covered a variety of stories including  student protests, the abrupt departure of Venice’s college counselor, and layoffs of Venice’s office clerks.

My love of journalism started young. For as long as I can remember the first thing I’ve done every morning is skim through the Los Angeles Times. My favorite articles to read are investigative stories like the city of Bell salary scandal and the teacher effectiveness analysis.

I hope you enjoy my blog!

Great Article Very Informative, I agree with your opinion that carmegeddon 2 will be much worse…

Your article was very impressive. I got such clear vision of what the freeway shutdown meant. I agree with your theory regarding the next phase, next year, BUT
we shall see. People from Los Angeles have short memories and another warning campaign may work. Again, I wanted to say, I loved your article and will keep checking your blog.
