Someone let the cat out of the bag, or should I say the cage.
Hidden in the far corner of the Cal Poly SLO campus lies the Cal P oly Cat Program cat shelter, a mysterious building that is home to dozens of cats. Many of them roam free, walking carelessly between the inside room or the enclosed outside area, others are locked in cages. At their disposal are a variety of toys, climbing posts, food, and water bowls.
The cats are surprisingly human like. Two cats sat peacefully outside by the corner of a chainlink fence, the only thing separating them with the rest of the world. They stared aimlessly past the fence, longing freedom.
Three other cats were locked in cage playfully fighting like little kids. Two would constantly claw and pounce on the other, and when a toy was dangled above the cage, all three fought for the chance to play.
Others were shy and stayed as secluded as possible. Three huddled together on a bed in the back of the cage wanting to say as far away from their mysterious photographers as possible. They didn’t want to be pet or played with. All they wanted was to be alone.
But most of the cats were like a big family. They were lazy sometimes, and playful others. They would gather around the food and water bowls to eat together and at night they probably get tucked into their cages where they can sleep near each other.
Hopefully all the cats will one day find a nice home with a human family.

Hope they all find nice homes!
This is soo cute! I like your writing style.
Now I want to adopt a cat and keep it in the dorm, although that’s probably not allowed in CSPA… there’s no actually rule about pets in dorms though…
despite my love for dogs, I hope these cats find homes… Great writing… its very smooth and makes us connect really easy with the story you tell!
I am more of a dog lover than cats, but I do hope they all find good homes. Your article makes the reader care about what happens to these animals.
