Griping over the quality, or lack there of, of Cal Poly dining food has become a preferred hobby of several of us during this entire program. However, while some food items might appear questionable to some at least you will survive to see mom’s  mac n’cheese the first meal home. With some foods ,including the deadly  following three humdrum delacacies, you might be sitting down to your very own version of the last supper.

1 Nutmeg. The smell of pumpkin pie wafting through a window on Thanksgiving thus symbolizing a seize arms and a gathering for peace. Well-it’s also deathly. Death by Nutmeg has only happened twice in recorded history, once in 1908 and the other incident in 2008. Even if it wont kill you nutmeg is also classified as a hallucinogenic drug and will take you on one bad trip. Side effects include nausea, fever and headaches.
2 Cherries conjure up images of innocent little girls running through fields and picking cherries . However, if the seed of the cherry is at all damaged it releases prussic acid, which you guessed it, can lead to a very untimely death. The same applies to some other seemingly benign fruits peaches and plums.

3 Rhubarb pie at a state fair-yum. Ever wonder why they leave out the leaves? They contain kidney-killing oxalic acid, the stuff that makes kidney stones.
