The Sights and Sensations of the 60th CSPA Anniversary Party

Today marked the end of the first week of the workshop and was also CSPA’s 60th anniversary party. CSPA Alumni came to celebrate at Cuesta Park, all from across the nation. A large part of the gathering was dedicated to Ralph and Millie, the original creators of the workshop. Sentimental thoughts and old memories were passed from the instructors and alum to us, the current students. I had a really good time talking to people about their experiences at the workshop while spending quality time with my fellow classmates and friends, so I wanted to share some of my photos with you all:

Photography class with Chris Carlson has really opened my eyes to a subject that I haven’t ventured into before. It has been a honor learning from someone as well known as Chris, and I really appreciate all that he has taught me.

Rachel, Alyssa, Katie, and Gabi are so daring, they ventured out into the unsafe territory of the stream. I, as a more careful person, stayed on dry land, where I was completely out of harm’s way.

Kiefer looks so artistic with her big camera. She was snapping pictures all day, so I thought it was important to capture the “behind the scenes” moments.

The boys! We just love taking gender-segregated pictures.

Layne, Alyssa, Rachel, Katie, and myself hanging out at the party. After taking this picture, Alyssa, Rachel and Katie decided to play some soccer, while Layne and I sat under a tree and played a wonderfully competitive game of Apples to Apples.

Rachel and I met on the very first day and she is currently sitting right next to me making weird noises. I love her.

All us girls have really bonded over the past week. We all come from different backgrounds, but are united by our common interests. Being so close, I can’t imagine my experience with the workshop without them with me.

Me, Shelby, Aneesa, and Layne, all different people. Shelby and Aneesa speak in Parseltounge, no big deal. Layne and I are the world’s best Apples to Apples players, no big deal. Well, maybe Layne is. Whatever, I still love them.
