The 60th birthday of the CSPA workshop was today and one of the many things that I learned from the event was the greatness of Ralph and Millie Alexander.
As I heard the hall of fame speeches from Art Aguilar, Steve Harvey, Larry Welborn, Stan Kelton, Gil Chesterton and Jay Berman, I began to fully understand how much of an impact Ralph and Millie made on people’s lives. And, during these speeches, I kept wishing that I could have met these two amazing people.
After hearing that Ralph helped Steve get a scholarship for USC and how everything that happened in Art’s career was because of Ralph, I started to get inspired. It’s amazing how two people can leave such a strong impact on so many different lives and I wish I could do the same. In fact, Ralph and Millie inspire me to make just as much as a difference in my lifetime.
Even though I never met Ralph and Millie, I feel like I know a part of them since I’m at the workshop that they created. And, they have left their legacy is great hands. I’m positive that this workshop will live a long, fruitful life because the people who took over and now direct this workshop have an abundant amount of passion for journalism and for the dreams of Ralph and Millie.
From what I’ve heard, Ralph wanted everybody to succeed and would do anything to help. Just hearing his story, I have felt that he has helped me. I am more inspired to be great in my life than I ever have been before.
I am honored to live the creation and dream of Ralph and Millie.
Thank you, Ralph and Millie. Rest In Paradise.
