Before I checked in the first day of the workshop, I ventured in downtown SLO with my parents. After eating lunch, we walked around the shops and accidentally stumbled into bubble gum alley. It was probably the coolest, yet the most disgusting place I have ever been.
Some of the gum there has to be from at least 50 years ago, and I wouldn’t be surprised if the gum has been their longer.
My dad, Brian, contributed a “B” and I added an “S” in our Trident spearmint gum on the walls that are covered, literally, from the ground all the way up.
Even though the idea of being surrounded by people’s chewed gum is repulsive, I still thought it was so cool! It’s a funny way to leave your mark on San Luis Obispo. I can only imagine how exciting it would be to come back to this alley and see the little piece of me that I left here in SLO.
So, when I come back for the CSPA 100th year reunion, I’ll stop by bubble gum alley and look for this…

I love the title of this! Great photos too.
Hahaha, I heard about this! I really want to see it. It’s pretty gross but super cool.
The 100 anniversary is in 40 years that would make me 88. I would like to see the B.S. with my daughter Shelby.
